The International Conference for Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery (ICFCS) is pleased to announce that abstract submissions are now open! We invite trainees and future cardiothoracic surgery innovators to submit original scientific work for presentation at this year’s meeting.
ICFCS offers a platform to share impactful research, foster collaboration, and advance the future of cardiac and thoracic surgery. This is an opportunity to showcase novel ideas, clinical findings, quality initiatives, and visionary scholarship shaping the specialty.
We look forward to reviewing your work and welcoming you to a meeting designed to elevate science, mentorship, and innovation in cardiothoracic surgery.
How to write and submit an ICFCS Abstract
General Instructions
Abstracts must be submitted via the Google Form provided by the committee.
Abstracts must be original work and specific to Cardiac/Thoracic Surgery.
Abstracts must include the following sections:
Title: Concise and informative
Authors & Affiliations: Full names, institutions and countries [hidden upon submission for blinding]
Background/Introduction: Brief context or rationale
Objectives/Aim: Clear research question or objective
Methods: Study design, population, techniques, and analysis
Results: Key findings with supporting data
Conclusion: Summary of outcomes and implications.
Word Limit: 300 Words (± 10%)
Only 1 table OR diagram is permitted per abstract
Guidelines
Please follow the step-by-step instructions carefully to ensure that your presentation meets our strict guidelines.
- The abstract language is English.
- The templates provided are the only format accepted please see “How to write and submit an ICFCS Abstract” below.
- Since the abstracts will be judged anonymously, the text may not reveal the institutional affiliation.
- Mark the category which best describes the subject of your abstract.
- Each abstract submitted for possible presentation at the ICFCS must summarize an original contribution and must not have been submitted, presented, published or accepted for presentation or publication another International conference or journal.
- Please note that it is not possible to make any corrections to the abstract content or information (such as Presenter details, authors list etc. ). In order to correct your abstract you must withdraw it and submit a new corrected version prior to the deadline. Note that, such replacement of the abstract is not possible after the deadline. In the case of errors in your abstract discovered after the deadline, you may indicate the correction during the presentation at the congress. However, changes will not be included in the publications. If accepted, your abstract will be published as submitted.
Abstracts will not be accepted unless they are submitted according to the format and instructions described previously, and submitted using the FORM no later than the dates given above.
Submission Condition for Accepted Abstracts
Your Obligations
- Submitted abstracts must summarize an original contribution and must not have been submitted, presented, published or accepted for presentation or publication elsewhere.
- You or your named presenter MUST present your abstract ONLINE at ICFCS and be registered to attend by 1 March. Failure to do so could mean the abstract is removed from the program.
- Authors must disclose any commercial associations that might pose a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted abstract.
- Ensure that you have permission from all co-authors to submit the abstract on their behalf and to grant ICFCS the exclusive license to publish the abstract and the full article if accepted.
- You must consider the content of your presentation carefully to avoid bringing ICFCS into disrepute. You must be aware that ICFCS has a zero-tolerance approach to sexism and all other forms of discrimination.
- Your study/research methodology must have been approved by local ethical committees or conform to standards currently applied in the country of origin.
- Failure to comply with any of these obligations will result in a ban for ALL authors, from submitting an abstract to the ICFCS Annual Meeting for a minimum of 2 years.
